Thank You for Supporting Our Work

It’s hard to say what the group of visionaries who decided to save the lives of babies by providing pasteurized milk to Chicago’s families in 1911 envisioned for the future of healthcare. At the Angel Harvey Family Health Center of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, we continue to recognize that keeping kids healthy takes much more than a single visit to the doctor. While the doctor is an important part of staying healthy, we know that children are only as healthy as the elements that shape their lives. Thank you for being the quiet but essential element that has helped us to improve the health and the lives of the children and families we serve.

Whether it’s getting better grades at school because they’ve received a new pair of glasses or missing fewer school days thanks to getting a bad tooth pulled, learning coping skills for anxiety, and occupational skills to help them get dressed, there are so many crucial factors that attribute to the health and well-being of a child. That is why we love taking the time to say thank you. Because we know it takes a village-the community- to raise a child. Through your support, you are that village. Thank you for donating to our programs. Thank you for attending our events. Thank you for sharing our social media messages. Thank you for believing in our mission and in what we do to keep children and their families healthy.

Thank you for supporting us when we expanded our services, after 105 years, to provide quality healthcare to entire families. Thanks to you, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents can get the wraparound health care services they need to lead healthy productive lives and to care for the children we all hold so dear. It is a truly heartwarming sight when a family remains united and capable of working through the difficult situations that life has in store.

More than a century later, it’s hard to say what those brave individuals envisioned when they opened milk stations, which led to traveling nurses; then to become the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. One thing is for certain: our visionary founders of yesteryear, and our hardworking staff of today, along with your loyal and generous support all share one principle: providing vital health care services to all children and their families is noble work that is greater than any one of us and will continue beyond us. Thank you for joining our mission.
